The ham was shipped either fresh or frozen from our plant and should arrive semi-frozen or cool to the touch upon receipt. The sauce should be cool to the touch but is okay at room temperature and may be stored in the refrigerator and will last several months. Ice packs (if used) and packing materials may be thrown away. Keep small children away from packing materials.

Shelf Life:

Smoked Meats - The refrigerated shelf life is approximately 3 weeks unopened. Smoked meats may be frozen for up to 1 year unopened. Sunkissed Apricot Sauce - Use by date will be stamped on the individual container.

This ham has been smoked without adding additional water to increase the weight of the ham. No ingredients have been added to the ham, only to the curing agent that requires water.

Serving Instructions:

Allow ham to thaw in refrigerator (about 2-3 days). Remove ham from package and preheat oven to 325 degrees. If desired, score ham with a sharp knife, by making 1/4 inch deep slices across the top of ham. Create a checkerboard pattern by cutting across these slices in the opposite direction, making cuts about 1 inch apart. Add 1/8” or 1/4” of water to roasting pan. Place the sheet pan or roasting pan in the center of the oven and cook 12 minutes per pound for whole ham and 10 minutes per pound for half ham. For the first 2 hours cover the whole ham (1 hour for a half ham) with foil. During the last hour, REDUCE THE HEAT TO 200, remove the foil and generously glaze the ham. Repeat this process about every 20 minutes to allow for a heavy glaze. Make sure that you utilize the pan drippings from the bottom of the roasting pan as this is where the killer flavor is! When the ham is beautifully glazed, remove from oven and let rest for about 30 minutes. This is also the time to stud the ham with the cloves if desired. Use the leftover glaze and the pan drippings as a sauce to serve with the ham.
